THINGS TO DO
From salt water to fresh, fishing around Whakatane is some of the best in the world and we can recommend our favourite charters, or spots if you want to take your own boat out.
This region has some unique kayaking experiences. Explore beautiful and sheltered Ohiwa Harbour where you can paddle to deserted islands for a picnic. Or enjoy our favourite kayak to Moutohora Island Sanctuary
(Whale Island). This is a double experience with a Catamaran boat ride out to the Island and then
into your kayaks to explore. You can also do moonlight kayaking in the area.
